The Northern Trek is a new 560 mile (901km) challenge - from Chatsworth House to the summit of Ben Nevis.

The Northern Trek was devised by avid walker Ken Heptonstall who approached me to create the website for his new project. He had already got the site professionally designed as an interactive prototype within Adobe XD and I took the designs from there to create hand-built responsive HTML and build the templates within the Umbraco Content Management System.

The site is fully content-managed by Ken who updates content and imagery on a daily basis.

It was built from the ground up with SEO in mind as Ken had a limited budget for promotion, I used my experience in technical SEO to create a site that was perfect for Google to index, along with great content and some good links, the site was already bringing in hundreds of visitors a week within the first month.

The site has been noticed and featured on the I newspapers' website, the Scotsman website and others.
