The Blacksmiths Arms is a friendly family pub in the lovely village of Naburn, Near York. Serving delicious homemade food and excellent cask
The owners of the pub have tried a number of times to make their own websites using sites such as wix.com but this has never worked out for them. The last site they created back in 2023 was recently hacked and the domain was taken from them (currently displaying links to gambling sites) so I was asked if I could create a new website with a design in keeping with the type of traditional pub that the Blacksmith Arms is.
As a village pub, they only had a small budget so didn't have the money to spend on a bespoke design so I set out to find template designs which would work perfectly. Once the perfect designs were found I worked to modify the templates and create content to give the perfect look and feel for the pub.
The site is fully content-managed, allowing the staff to change everything from reviews to keeping menu items and prices up to date.
It was important that potential customers could get all the information they needed on a mobile phone so the site was made to work beautifully responsive for all devices.
In addition to the pub, there is a small rental cottage available so details of the cottage are on the site also, along with links to make a booking. Again, the cottage content is fully editable by the pub staff and owner.
As well as building the site, I also guided them through the safe purchase of a new website domain and also manage the hosting of the website on UK servers.
